ALAN FINN KELCEY was born and raised in Kent and now lives in Kirriemuir. Much of Alan’s adult life has been spent in the Royal Marines, enlisting in 1965 and after service all over the world finally retiring in 1992. Since then he has worked with young people as a residential care worker until last year when he decided to devote his time to painting. It was during his service in the Royal Marines that Alan began painting in watercolours and he is entirely self-taught. He draws his inspiration from the landscapes of Scotland captured from the years of indulging his hobby of hillwalking. His work features many parts of Scotland and particularly his local area of the Angus Glens. Alan has exhibited at Craft Fairs across the country, has taken part in several joint exhibitions and been commissioned to paint a considerable number of works for private clients.
