Robert Graham – Autumn, Clunie, Perthshire

ROBERT GRAHAM was born in Edinburgh in 1942 and lived there until in 1981 when he moved with his family to Blairgowrie and very quickly fell in love with Perthshire. In 2002, he reluctantly decided to take early retirement, he soon discovered the appeal of watercolour painting.  He is mainly self-taught, but attending evening and weekend tutorial classes, together with a few watercolour workshops, gave him opportunities to improve his technique and encourage his love of this medium.  The local landscapes around Perthshire, Angus and Fife immediately inspired him and he is presently a member of the Perthshire Art Association and regularly shows his work in their exhibitions.  His paintings can be found in private collections both here and abroad, most notably in USA, Canada, New Zealand and Europe.   From an early age he had always been interested in art, and in Perthshire he soon discovered the joy of watercolour painting. It soon became his passion. He has now been painting in watercolour for fifteen years and regularly exhibits his work at the Pitlochry Festival Theatre.
