Barry McFarlane was born in Dundee in 1961, and was educated in Coupar Angus where he still has his home. Although he attended a brief course at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, he is mainly self-taught as an artist, and enjoys painting in watercolour, gouache and acrylic. Wildlife is a great interest and influence and Barry once worked as a taxidermist in Crieff. He is currently painting heraldic crests for Scotcrest in Blairgowrie. Barry’s paintings are in private collections throughout Britain, France and U.S.A. and he has exhibited in this Gallery with considerable success on many occasions.
