Message about Creative Scotland Funding

Today, Creative Scotland announced its Multi-Year Funding decisions and we are grateful to be included amongst the recipients. Though this news story belongs to Creative Scotland, we wanted to communicate directly with our Theatre communities.

We are mindful that we will not be alone in our relief that what has been a long process is now at its end. The level of funding Creative Scotland has allocated to us partly acknowledges our impact, reach and value to the people of Scotland. However, we understand that they have not made judgement calls solely on applicants’ work but have applied percentage increases to previous funding.

Looking to the future, we are confident that the Scottish Government’s decision to review how the arts are funded in Scotland will deliver sustained change and establish a clear framework for meaningful investment in our country’s cultural life. Scotland’s artistic community and its audiences deserve nothing less than that. We remain determined to see this future for the people of Scotland.

As Scotland’s largest building-based producing theatre and its only major rurally located arts organisation, we remain confident in our ability to lead, adapt and serve our audiences and community with vibrant and engaging programming and meaningful experiences, sharing Pitlochry with the world and the world with Pitlochry.

As a valued supporter of Pitlochry Festival Theatre, we look forward to welcoming you to our upcoming Winter Words Festival in February and our exciting Summer Season ahead.
