Ian Shanlin was born in Thurso, Caithness and at present lives in the west end of Glasgow. Since the early 90s his work has been in galleries in mid Scotland and he is grateful to the Tighnabruaich and Valentine Moon Gallery, Rait for the interest and confidence in his early work. This has helped mold his current paintings. At present, the Woodland Gallery in Falkland have a permanent display of his work while the Mansefield Gallery in Arrochar have also supported his efforts. In September 07 he was pleased to be one of the invited artists to display at the opening of the Studio Gallery in Killin and continues to show his work there. Ian is Chairman of the Loch Lomond Craft association and a member of the Mugdock Makkers of Milngavie.
