Important End of Year News

A Message from Elizabeth Newman, Artistic Director, Pitlochry Festival Theatre

2023 has been a thrilling year of productions, and activities here at Pitlochry Festival Theatre. Hot off the back of Sunshine on Leith and our Big Festive Weekend where the beautiful sounds of the Show Choir lit up the foyer with their Christmas Carols, children filled the studio eagerly awaiting their turn to meet Santa Claus and the nativity drew in the crowds at the Holy Trinity Church. It has been a joyous time to spend with our community here in Pitlochry.

We are then looking forward to a truly magical year ahead in 2024 starting with promoting the work of Scottish authors and artists at our annual Winter Words Festival from February 8-11.

We can’t wait to see you for Summer 2024 where we will have an exciting season of shows including Footloose, Beautiful A Carole King Musical, Sense and Sensibility, Shirley Valentine, in the main auditorium, Nan Shepherd: Naked and Unashamed, and The Brenda Line, in our studio space and The Secret Garden and Dido and Aeneas in the amphitheatre. We will also have our regular Early Stages play group each Friday, various theatre groups and Artist Development activities to look forward to as well as our beautiful Explorers’ Garden re-opening for the season in May.

See you in 2024!

Building Work News

From 8 January 2024, we will have people on site to upgrade our glass frontage and repair the roof. These changes will improve the energy efficiency towards net zero and ensure that everyone is kept warm and dry when we reopen.

There will be further building works in 2024 and 2025 and we’ll share news about this in due course.
