Community Cast wanted for North And South

Fancy performing on the Pitlochry stage? Pitlochry Festival Theatre is on the hunt for additional community cast to join the professionals on stage this coming Summer Season, in the much-anticipated, world première of Elizabeth Gaskell’s beloved book, North And South, opening later this summer in August and September.

For anyone, aged 18 or over, who fancy performing on the Pitlochry Mainstage, Elizabeth Newman, Artistic Director at Pitlochry, and Director for North And South would love to see you at a short workshop on Wednesday 12, June, 7-8pm in the theatre’s River Room.

No experience required, all you need is enthusiasm and a passion for theatre! Elizabeth explains:

Elizabeth Gaskell’s classic 19th-century novel, North And South is our final show of Summer Season 2019. It’s a brand new adaptation commissioned especially for Pitlochry Festival Theatre, by playwright and TV Writer, Janys Chambers. We’d love local people with a joy of the theatre, and a passion for performing, to help us create a PFT Adult Community Company. The community cast will play the people of London, of Helstone and the people of Milton. But most of all, we intend it to be lots of fun!”

Elizabeth says there’s no need to prepare anything, those coming along will always be singing, moving and acting in pairs or groups – so you won’t have to perform alone (unless you want to) - but please wear clothes you can move around in comfortably.

More information about the show, the rehearsal and performance schedule (and the costumes!) will be given at the workshop.

So, if you’d like join the production in the Summer and want to go along to the workshop, simply register with the theatre by sending an email to kate.schofield@pitlochryfestivaltheatre.com
