Dance onto the stage at Pitlochry

After an acclaimed stage performance of North and South last year, Pitlochry Festival Theatre is once again on the hunt for community cast to join the professionals on stage this coming Summer Season. And this year, the theatre is looking for you to get your dancing shoes on and join them onstage for the Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and Jive, as Pitlochry goes ‘Strictly’.

Amanda Whittington’s heart-warming, funny and dramatic story around the National Amateur Championship in Blackpool’s ballrooms, Kiss Me Quickstep, opens 12 June and runs until October, with rehearsals beginning in April.

For anyone, aged 18 or over, who fancies performing on the Pitlochry Mainstage, Caitlin Skinner, Associate Director at Pitlochry, and Director for Kiss Me Quickstep, would love to see you at a workshop on EITHER Saturday, 29 February 4-6pm OR Sunday, 1 March 11am-1pm. Those with dance experience, and particularly ballroom/Latin American dance, are encouraged to take part but it is not required and all are welcome.

There’s no need to prepare anything, those coming along will always be dancing and acting in pairs or groups – so you won’t have to perform alone (unless you want to) - but please wear clothes you can move around in comfortably.

The Pitlochry Festival Theatre Adult Community Company will act and dance in this production playing the competitors and spectators at the dance competition.

More information about the show, the rehearsal and performance schedule, is available, and will be given at the workshop.

PLEASE REGISTER for one of the workshops: email kay.hesford@PitlochryFestivalTheatre.com with your contact details.
