Famous folk duo reschedule Pitlochry concert

Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham, perhaps the most famous export from the Scottish music scene, and now something of a national institution regularly play to sold-out performances at Pitlochry Festival Theatre (and all over the world). Sadly, due to illness, we have to announce Aly and Phil will not be able to attend Pitlochry Festival Theatre for their concert, scheduled Sunday 4 August. However their hotly-anticipated date from the Summer Tour has already been rearranged for Sunday, 27 October.

In a message from them both, they explained:

During our spring tour in Scotland, Aly started to feel increasingly unwell, so much so that immediately after the tour, he went for tests and was admitted to hospital on an urgent basis. He underwent open heart surgery and a triple bypass was successfully performed.Thankfully, his diagnosis and treatment were speedy and he is now out of hospital and has begun the lengthy recuperation process.

This is the first time, in their 33 year duo career that they have had to cancel a tour due to ill health. When Phil had his heart attack in 1997, he waited till after the tour!”

The Box Office team are working to contact everyone who has booked for the original date in August, but if visitors have any questions, we ask that you please get in touch.

We also sends our very best wishes to Aly, and look forward to seeing him back on the Pitlochry stage in the Autumn.
