Pitlochry Welcomes the (St.) Andrews Sisters

If you’re a fan of Blonde Bombshells of 1943, performing at Pitlochry this summer, or you have a penchant for 1940’s iconic style and the big band sound, then the St. Andrews Sisters arriving at Pitlochry Festival Theatre, Monday, 22 July, 8pm are perfect for you.

A trio of bonnie lassies, singing in beautiful harmony and putting a Scottish twist on the iconic sisters of swing, the St. Andrews Sisters sing the old favourites made famous by their namesakes, with clever renditions and a capella numbers, put a vintage spin on contemporary classics and harmonise traditional Scottish melodies.

Amy Scott, Lindsay Ashworth and Kirsty Malone, are all trained singing professionals. Amy and Lindsay met while training in Musical Theatre, over the years performing in productions ranging from school halls to arenas, across the UK and internationally. As well as working extensively as a session singer at many iconic studios, including Abbey Road, Lindsay creates all the musical arrangements for The Sisters. And if you're watching a Dreamworks animation, chances are her voice is in there somewhere! Kirsty trained as a classical singer before realising her calling in life was Musical Theatre and Acting, through which she’s toured the UK and worked extensively in Scotland, from Pitlochry Festival Theatre (White Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street) to the Glasgow Pavilion and, besides planning The Sisters' fabulous outfits, also works for the education department of Scottish Opera.

Between them they have decades of performing experience, so you can be sure to have a polished, professional experience with choreography, chatter and, of course, stunning vocal harmonies.

Perfectly suited to a summer’s evening - enjoy a bit of boogie woogie, strains of big band and swing, in the theatre’s panoramic River Room overlooking the Tummel.

And relax…
