Bring your story to life at Winter Words Workshop!

Winter Words’ jam-packed programme draws literary fanatics from all over the country every year to be inspired and enlightened – and those with a flair for writing may be interested in the Playwriting Workshop on offer every day between Monday 13 and Thursday 16 February – could you be the next Shakespeare?

Lesley Wilson, who was mentored by the Playwrights’ Studio Scotland in 2013 and was shortlisted for The Kenneth Branagh Windsor Fringe New Writing Award in 2014, will lead the practical sessions exploring the basic elements of writing for theatre. Focusing on setting, narrative, character, dialogue and dramatic action, the sessions will lift your story off the page and give it life!

Participants will have the chance to have their written piece read by professional actors during a free reading on Thursday 16 February (1.15pm).

This workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with some experience in playwriting. Participants should submit an example of their writing (up to two A4 pages in length) in advance, together with (if applicable) a brief synopsis of any plays participants are working on. Please email these items to annie.hibberd@pitlochryfestivaltheatre.com.

In addition, Workshop participants will also be able to attend five daytime literary events for free during the festival.
