Riding High on the ‘Seventh’ Wave

Riding a wave of sell-out gigs across Scotland, Scots Trad Awards Live Act of the Year, Skipinnish crash into Pitlochry Festival Theatre this Friday, 13 April, 7.30pm. From Inverness to Edinburgh, from Stirling to the famous Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow, every show has been full and audiences have been going wild!

Since their beginnings in 1999, the band’s ever-growing popularity saw 2017 as their biggest year yet, along with the release of their album, The Seventh Wave… and it continues to rise in 2018. The West Coast band has hit the very top of the music scene in Scotland, with a strong mix of powerful bagpipe, fiddle and accordion-led sets. In hit after hit of self-penned songs, they encompass the very best of contemporary Celtic music.

Originally booked for early March, Skipinnish sold out at Pitlochry months before the concert, but with concern about the hazardous travel conditions for the audience, the dreaded ‘Beast from the East’ demanded the gig be rearranged. To an even better outcome! With so many fans missing out on tickets for the original sold-out performance, PFT were able to secure two new slots - April and October - to replace the March date. This week's April date has a handful of tickets left and the Autumn slot is heading for capacity too.

The wild, driving sets include top favourites, The Island, December, Western Ocean and the massive hit Walking on the Waves. There will undoubtedly be dancing in the Pitlochry aisles this Friday!
