And the winners of the Leon Sinden Awards are…

The winners of Pitlochry Festival Theatre’s 24th annual Leon Sinden Awards were announced on Saturday, 20th October.

Audiences and visitors throughout the theatre’s Summer Season have been placing their votes for Best Actor and Actress in a Supporting Role, and the annual awards were presented onstage after the final performance of Chicago, at the Theatre on Saturday night, following an extra week of the musical due to popular demand.

This year’s winner of Best Supporting Actress was Fiona Wood for her portrayal of Susan Skinner in Before The Party, and Alan Mirren picked up the award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Amos Hart (and Mr Cellophane) in Chicago.

Actor John Ramage presented both actors with their awards and Fiona told us she was, “touched and overjoyed.”

Next Pitlochry production to open (23 November) is their famed festive musical, this year, The Wizard Of Oz, closely based on the iconic Judy Garland movie, with real-life Toto, ‘flying monkeys’ and a taste of circus!
