Announcing! A mini series of writing from Shetland.

Starting Wednesday 15th of July at 6pm then every Wednesday at 6pm up to October 21st.

Our partnership with Shetland Arts called out to community writers with whom they had been working, to respond creatively to the idea of HOME. Six writers from Shetland sent in 13 pieces of writing. Amy Liptrott, an Associate Director at PFT, worked with 11 actors to rehearse and record the monologues, four of which are, importantly, in Shetland Dialect. Together we  believe they will bring you Light, Hope and Joy.

Shetland Arts places the arts at the heart of Shetland, to educate, promote, support and develop the practice and enjoyment of the arts by all.

They run Mareel and the Garrison Theatre in Lerwick and Bonhoga Gallery in Weisdale, and promote a year round programme of music, craft, theatre, literature, visual arts, dance and film events.

They’re there to support creative people and believe that creativity is an important part of everybody’s life, no matter who you are, where you live or what you do. And see their challenge to enable and empower communities, groups and individuals to fulfil their creative potential.

Art is a gift. It has the power to lift us up, to help us find expression and self-belief, and to make a profoundly positive difference to our lives.
