Poetry Please | Free event in the Café Bar

Friday 17th | 1.15pm – 1.45pm
We step beyond Burns to celebrate some other uniquely Scottish voices in verse over the years with a special look at the work of Muriel Spark, in the 100th anniversary of her birth. An esoteric selection, recited with verve and vigour by familiar actors from the
PFT stage!

Saturday 18th |1.15pm – 1.45pm | with Iona Lee Free event
Come along and hear your favourite pieces of poetry spoken aloud by our Festival readers – familiar faces from the PFT stage and guest poet Iona Lee. If you have a favourite poem you would like to hear, just let us know by dropping a note into Box Office before lunchtime on Saturday 18 Feb. Make sure you grab a light lunch or try a hearty bowl of soup and settle back to enjoy Poetry Please. Iona Lee has performed her own poetry at Glastonbury Festival and in Paris, Vienna and London. She’s also appeared on BBC Loop and iPlayer and made several Edinburgh Fringe apperances. Iona is the current Scottish Slam champion.
