Three dance partnerships are striving for the National Amateur Championships title in Blackpool. Nancy has a new partner Luka, who has come all the way from Russia, bought and paid for by her dad. Then there’s married couple Justin and Jodie who are living like professional dancers who aren’t getting paid. They make it via the hard shoulder of the M6. Meantime reigning champions Samantha and Lee are out to defend their glittering crown. Although Sam’s habit could get in the way of victory.
What’s certain is that the winners will have the world of ballroom at their impeccably polished, foxtrotting feet. But beneath the bottled tan, blinding dentistry and bright, mirror-ball lights, there is real-life strain, suffering and sacrifice. So, who will get through to the next round? And what will it cost them?
Join us as we dance our way through a dazzling, sequin-studded, feather-flurry of waltzes, tangos, quicksteps, jives, paso dobles…
Amanda Whittington has numerous writing credits for BBC Radio Four including The Archers. Her plays have been performed throughout the UK and include Ladies Day and Be My Baby.
Heart-warmingly funny, dramatic and packed with wonderful American and Latin dancing, Kiss Me Quickstep is a must for audiences who want to explore the world of dancing to win and of course, fans of Strictly Come Dancing.
