Sitka spruce picture

Can you help?

Our much loved, very tall and slender pair of  Sitka Spruce (Picea sitchensis) which dominate the skyscape when looking out from the Theatre across the River Tummel and up to Ben Vrackie, are in poor health. The good news is, despite appearances, they aren’t dying. The bad news is they are suffering from an aggressive infestation of Green Spruce Aphid.

We have been advised by a trusted expert that if we remove about 30% of the lower branches of each tree, this will greatly aid their recovery, as the Aphid thrives on old foliage.

We’d like to bring a small team of expert tree surgeons onsite in April 2020 to complete this work, however the estimated cost is £5,000. This presents a  challenge beyond our economic means. Can you help us raise this money and save our lovely pair of Sitka Spruce?

Please donate: £5, £10, £50 to the Tree Appeal Fund today.
