At Pitlochry Festival Theatre, our audiences are at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we’re taking steps to make your experience here as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, with some thoughtful updates to our Auditorium and public facilities
A Seat Worthy of the Stories We Share
We’ve listened to your feedback, and while a full redesign of the Auditorium is part of our long-term vision, we’ll be reupholstering the Auditorium seats in early 2025. This means your visits to the Theatre will be more comfortable, even before the bigger transformation takes place.
As we undertake this work, we’ll carefully preserve any dedications on the current seating. These dedications are a wonderful reminder of the generosity that has helped shape the Theatre over the years. In honour of that support, we’ll proudly display them on a new donor board.
A Welcoming Space, Refreshed for You
The updates don’t stop at the seats. We’ll also be refreshing the Auditorium with new flooring, wall finishes, and improved lighting to create a brighter, more inviting space. We are also giving a much-needed refresh to the public toilets, making the space a more pleasant environment and maximising the capacity. These changes will ensure that every visit feels special, whether you’re enjoying a world-class performance or simply having a coffee and a browse of the shop at the Theatre.
Shaping the Future Together
This work is part of our larger vision for the Theatre’s future. We’re committed to creating a space where talent can thrive and audiences can experience the magic of live performance. Our plans include further Auditorium improvements and exciting new stage technology, ensuring that Pitlochry Festival Theatre remains a place of inspiration and innovation for years to come.
We Couldn’t Do It Without You
All of these improvements are made possible by the incredible support of donors including The Scottish Government through the Tay Cities Regional Deal, Dunard Fund, and The Gannochy Trust. This kindness and generosity enable us to keep growing and evolving.
We are especially grateful to everyone supporting the next stage of our capital programme of works, and would like to convey our heartfelt thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Akester, long-term supporters of our Theatre, for their extraordinary gift. The ongoing support of our members and visitors enables us to continue to invest in our Estate. If you’d like to be part of our journey, visit our Support Us page to learn how you can help.
We’re excited to welcome you back to an even more comfortable Theatre in 2025, where the stories we share will continue to connect and inspire us all.
