Journey Through the Greats of Jazz, From Ella to Emeli

Blu Velvet Jazz Trio swing into Pitlochry Festival Theatre, Monday, 3 June, 8.00pm with From Ella to Emeli a selection of jazzy, bluesy favourite songs through the decades, from the 1920s through to present day, with the latest hits re-vamped and given a jazzy twist.

Blu Velvet perform traditional and modern Jazz, Blues and Americana songs, delving into the Great American Songbook and emerging with impressive and lively modern arrangements. Cherry-picking only the best from the greatest singers and songwriters of all time, you can sit back and relax to the likes of Ray Charles, Carole King, Frank Sinatra, Van Morrison, Aretha Franklin, and of course, Ella Fitzgerald and Emeli Sandé.

From Ella to Emeli has songs from each decade, from the 1920s up to present day performed by Carol Stirrat on vocals, with Greig Johnson, who toured with The Proclaimers, providing lively musical arrangements on piano and keyboard, and ex-BBC Proms saxophonist, Kenny Thomson, providing sublime melt-in-your-mouth notes.

So, if you are looking for an evening filled with wonderful music and the chance to learn a little more about the rich history of jazz and blues, then this night of musical reminiscence is just for you.
