Musical Madness and Big Band Swing at Pitlochry

Pitlochry Festival Theatre offers further two special concerts this weekend, 28 and 29 February with, hot from theatreland, Mad About Musicals, and regular, sell-out Pitlochry favourites, Pasadena Roof Orchestra, both at 7pm.

Friday, 28 February, from the heart of London’s West End to the glitz of Broadway, the critically acclaimed Mad About The Musicals celebrates the very best songs from the shows we all know and love!

Enjoy two hours of unforgettable favourites in the company of a talented cast headed up by Michael Courtney. It’s a whistle stop tour through the songbooks of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Boublil and Schonberg.

Expect brilliant vocals, stunning costumes and a spectacular light show, to bring you the very best show in town in favourites such as Everything You Ever Want, The Music Of The Night, From Now On, Never Enoughand many, many more.

While Saturday, 29 February, brings incomparable live sound to authentic life with the jazz and swing era. The PRO’s repertoire presents the music of giants like George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin and Hoagy Carmichael, and includes songs sung by Bing Crosby, Fred Astaire, Al Bowlly, from composers who wrote unforgettable melodies and sophisticated, romantic lyrics.

When it comes to dance band and early swing music, the PRO are unbeatable, performing arrangements by the best musicians under the directorship of bandleader and singer, Duncan Galloway.
