Respectable housewife Laura and idealistic doctor Alec meet by chance at a railway station. Although they are both already married, they continue to meet every Thursday in the station café. Their friendship soon develops into something more emotionally fulfilling than either expected, and they wrestle with the potential havoc their deepening relationship would have on their lives and the lives of those they love.

As they come to realise that their love is impossible, they must deal with the torment that comes from a love doomed never to find fulfilment.

Get ready to be transported to another time, another place by this delightful and joyful adaptation of a true classic romance.

Joseph Tweedale

Joseph Tweedale

Joseph grew up in Cardiff. He studied at Bath Spa University before becoming a professional actor. This is Joe’s first time performing at Pitlochry Festival Theatre. As well as Joe’s theatre and film work, he also works frequently in voiceover and lends his voice to a diverse range of audiobooks, videogames and audio dramas.

Kristin Weichen Wong

Kristin Weichen Wong

Born and raised in Taiwan, Kristin trained in Musical Theatre at National Taiwan Normal University Graduate Institute of Performing Arts. Previous training includes a BMus in music performance at National Taipei University of Education.

Kristin is also a dancer/dance artist based in Edinburgh and London, actively engaging in creative works span across multi-discipline of performing arts.

Some of Kristin’s credits include The Legends of Mountains and Seas musical (Taiwan Tour) as Tiannu Ba (the daughter of God), 8 Femmes musical (NTNU) as Gaby, Scumbag (Commercial Music Video) as dancer/choreographer, Youth Musical Theatre with Taipei Symphony Orchestra as musical director/ choreographer, and most recently in Avenue Q musical as Christmas Eve in 2022 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Oblique, Open, Filtered, Framed site-specific performance as dancer (Fruitmarket Gallery Edinburgh).

Kristin is thrilled to play her part in the 2023 summer season, marking her debut at Pitlochry Festival Theatre.
Matthew Churcher

Matthew Churcher

Matthew Churcher grew up in Desborough, Northamptonshire. He studied at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama: BA Acting (Collaborative & Devised Theatre) course, graduating in 2014.

Also a professional drummer/percussionist, Matthew has performed at the Royal Albert Hall, BBC, and toured both Nationally and Internationally. Recently his band Citadel opened the BBC Introducing Stage at Latitude Festival.

Matthew has also directed a number of productions, including Simon Stephens One Minute at the Waterloo Vaults, which was nominated for 3 Off West End Awards.
