Fragments of the Tay at Pitlochry Festival Theatre – Arts Workshops: Sculptures & Structures from Found Objects
Pitlochry Festival Theatre
Saturday 3 June – 10am to 12.30pm and then 1.30pm to 4pm
Fragments of the Tay is an experimental series of art workshops which celebrate our deep and meaningful connections with the River Tay and the surrounding landscape.
Pitlochry Festival Theatre is partnering with The Scottish Crannog Centre and Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust to invite you to come and join Artists Susie Johnston and Susie Dalton at one of six workshops taking place in May and June 2023. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in an artistic activity to make sculptures and structures from a diverse range of objects and things found near the Tay. We have started to collect materials for the projects and are asking you to gather and bring your own found objects too – bits of pottery, wood, wool, wire, litter- really anything you find of interest within proximity to the Tay.
Join us and spend an immersive couple of hours on a creative journey towards making sculptural works and exploring your own personal connection with the Tay.
The workshops will take place twice daily, from 10:00 – 12:30 and 13:30 – 16:00 at the following venues:
● The Scottish Crannog Centre on 28 May
● Pitlochry Festival Theatre on 3 June
● Birnam Arts Centre on 11 June
Open to everyone from 5+. Please wear warm and comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a bit messy, and bring along any found objects you might want to work with. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
Workshops are free but places are strictly limited so please book in advance.
Please email Gillian – gillian.trueman@pitlochryfestivaltheatre.com if you have any access requirements, allergies or intolerances, or any other additional needs and let her know which workshop you are attending.
We look forward to meeting you at one of the workshops.
