
Writing a Theatre Monologue with Imogen Stirling
These FREE writing workshops will focus on writing for different forms inspired by the wonderful river Tay and its landscapes and communities. Some of the writing will be selected to be recorded by professional actors and featured on Pitlochry Festival Theatre’s web-site and at a Celebration event in the summer.
Imogen Stirling is a playwright, performance poet and musician, shortlisted for the Out-Spoken Prize for Poetry 2022 and named ‘Artist of the Year’ supported by the National Theatre of Scotland (SETA 2021). She was the inaugural Writer-in-Residence for Paisley Book Festival 2021 and features as a writer/performer on BAFTA-winning Sky Arts documentary, Life & Rhymes, hosted by Benjamin Zephaniah. Her poetry collection, Love The Sinner, published by Verve Poetry Press, is currently being adapted for theatre by Vanishing Point Theatre Company, and will premiere in Spring 2023 at the Tron Theatre and Traverse Theatre. Imogen is recognised for her five-star debut collection and show #Hypocrisy (Speculative Books, 2019) and was a participant of the BBC Words First talent development scheme (BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC Asian Network and BBC Contains Strong Language). She is currently Artist Development Coordinator at the Tron Theatre and is based in Glasgow.
