Iain McIntyre-Younger was born in Stirling and on leaving full time education pursued a successful career in business which led to extensive travel both at home and overseas providing exposure to a variety of different cultures. After spending some twenty years based in London, Iain re-assessed his life and decided to pursue his love of painting, having studied art in his early years. After having spent time living in France, Iain and his family returned to Scotland where he now lives in Inverness-shire. On completing full time studies in Fine Art, he now produces a variety of works from vivid landscapes to abstract and expressive figurative work. His influences vary from the fine drawing skills of Jean August Ingres to the expressive lines of Amadeo Modigliani and to the modern painters such as Frank Auerbach and John Bellany. Iain’s works combine the use of simple line and form with strong vibrant colours. He has exhibited at galleries throughout Scotland and his works are now held in private collections in the U.K., France and Australia.
